Do You Need A Retreat to Work on Your Pet Grooming Business?

So what is a business retreat?

The Savvy Groomer offers two kinds of business retreats.

We have private retreats, and we also have group retreats.

A private retreat has more freedom and flexibility on different topics. Since you are the star of the show, your exact concerns can be met. 

A business retreat is a marriage of education and relaxation. It’s a vacation and a business intensive all in one. It’s filled with private coaching, strategy sessions, and overall learning.

A grooming business retreat is an opportunity for you to take a deep dive while receiving tons of support. We get to do extensive one on one coaching.

So let’s talk some more about some of the reasons you may consider a private business retreat:

• You might want to do a price increase and you really need some help taking a deep dive on what that entails. 
• Maybe you’re considering changing business models. Maybe you’re a solopreneur or a one on one groomer and you want to move to a bigger business. Maybe you want to start staggering appointments. There’s tons of different reasons why you may want to switch. Maybe you’re even considering adding a membership model.
• You’re hiring your very first employee and you want to know exactly what you should do and how to pay them. We can take that time to really do that deep dive. 
• Another reason would be shifting your groomer pay from commission to hourly and needing the support to do that.  
• Maybe you’re purchasing a grooming business and you want to figure out if the numbers work really well and need help deciding what that price point should be. 
• Maybe you’re selling your grooming business and you want to come up with a purchase price for it.  
• It could be adding different services. Maybe you want to add cat grooming to your business, or maybe it’s daycare and boarding. We’re going to want to work out the kinks, how things are going to flow, and what exactly we should do.  
• Some people transition from a dog grooming business to a cat exclusive salon. They may have to completely rebrand. They’re going to want to consider all of their options 
• Recently we’ve been talking about tightening up your client list. There are so many opportunities and options. Why is it that we want to do this? We want to really figure out how we can make your business really function for you. 
• We want to make sure our business goals align with our life goals.
• That sometimes means figuring out how to identify and then attract those soulmate clients. 

With a group retreat, you would generally have a topic or theme to that retreat. This allows you to connect with a group of groomers who want the same things as you. They all have the same goal.

A well-run grooming business retreat allows you to connect with other people. It allows you to get close to people that you may not have otherwise. What's wonderful about a group business retreat is that it allows you to make friends and have those long term connections. One thing I really love about going to tradeshows and seminars is that comradery. A group retreat allows you to do that in a really intimate way because you are literally living in the same house together. 

It’s a real blessing to be around other people who want more in their lives. Whether that’s more time with your family, more money, more freedom, more flexibility, more business, more success, whatever it is for you. 

Along with really getting to talk about your business, there is also the relaxation aspect of the business retreat. Some things that we can do for relaxation include eating breakfast together and walking the beach together. This relaxation really allows for the unveiling of who we really are in our business. A lot of us don’t really get an opportunity to take a break and this forces us to take that time to do our business but also focus on a fun time. During a business retreat, you are more than welcome to do fun things like take a tour, go sailing, take a day at the beach, whatever it is that you want to do. It is your time.

We don’t have to connect through these different avenues - like a physical one on one retreat or group retreat. It’s just another way to connect with other groomers.
